1 can chickpeas, rinsed and drained

Ingredients:
1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
1/4 cup cricket powder
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup vegetable oil
Instructions:
Combine ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the black beans, cricket powder, breadcrumbs, onion, red bell pepper, garlic, egg, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
Mash and shape: Use a fork or potato masher to mash the mixture until it's well combined but still has some texture. Divide the mixture into 6 equal patties.
Cook: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Cricket Powder Black Bean Burger
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef or turkey
1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
1 quart vegetable broth
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 cup cricket powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Sauté vegetables: Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion, carrots, celery, and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Brown meat: Add the ground beef or turkey to the pot and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain any excess grease.
Add beans and tomatoes: Stir in the black beans, kidney beans, and diced tomatoes.
